MASHER is an online video creation and sharing application. Using only a web-browser you can use it to create incredible, professional looking videos using your own photos and short video clips in minutes. Simply upload the files you wish to mix together (mash), choose one of our themes, add music, text and then share with your friends and family privately, or show your video off to the whole world in the MASHER gallery!
Create a movie, video greeting card or slideshow. It's simple and free to use.
A Mash is simply a video you create using MASHER.
A frame is an individual element on the timeline like a photo or video clip. Until you add an item to it, it appears as a simple grey box.
The timeline is the strip that appears at the bottom of the Studio to which you drag and drop your photos, video clips or text frames that you want to appear in your Mash, in the order you want them to appear.
Themes are simply collections of effects, skins and transitions that make it quick and simple to create your Mash. If you choose to use a Theme, the theme will automatically determine things like the transition speed between the frames of your Mash, what the background of the Mash looks like, the color, size and location of text, etc. If you don't want to use a Theme, simply select 'No theme' at Step 1.
You need to register to use MASHER. We'll send you a confirmation email and once you've click on this, you're an official member of the MASHER community!
To make your first Mash, login and go to the Studio. You'll see a simple 5-step process that will take you through the Mash creation process. You may also want to watch our short introduction video.
How long it takes to make your Mash depends on two things; how many photos you've used in it and how many other people are using MASHER at the same time as you are. For a video that includes 5-10 photos, your new Mash should appear after 5-7 minutes. MASHER works best for videos that have 5-10 photos in them and when your video is ready it will automatically appear in My Mashes.
To edit a Mash you've created with MASHER, login to your account, go to 'My Mashes', find the Mash you want to edit and next to it you'll see a link 'Edit'. Click on this and your Mash will be loaded into the Studio and you can edit from there.
When you're a registered MASHER user, you can share your Mashes by email, or easily embed them in your blog or web site. You can also add your Mash to the MASHER gallery where our users from all over the world will be able to watch it.
To cancel your subscription, just log into your account, go to 'My account' and you'll see a purple button 'Cancel subscription'. If you click on this it will cancel your subscription and generate a refund to your card as you're still in our 14 day trial period.
MASHER offers a no questions refund if you choose to cancel your subscription within 14 days of first starting your subscription. To generate your refund if you are still within this 14 day period, cancel your subscription using the 'Cancel subscription' button in 'My account' and this will automatically generate the refund to your card.
Yes! Once you have created your Mash, it will appear in 'My Mashes'. Click View and you will see a green 'Export this video' button. This will allow you to download your Mash to your computer from where you can upload it into your YouTube account.
No, you can keep your Mash private. To share it, add it to the MASHER gallery and you can share with your friends, family and other MASHER users
MASHER is a premium service and can be used only if you have a subscription. The cost of the subscription will depend on when you first subscribed. The earlier you subscribe the lower the price. Please see our registration page for the current cost of a subscription.
MASHER has been designed to help you share all of the photos and video clips you've collected on your mobile/cell phone, digital camera or video camera. You can also share photos and video clips which you own or have the rights to distribute (please see our Terms and Conditions on this). MASHER provides some content such as music tracks and simple video screens that you can add to your Mash to spice it up, but MASHER is all about helping you turn your content into incredible Mashes.
With MASHER, you are always in control of who gets to see what. Every time you save a Mash you can make it public or keep it private. If you change your mind, you can change your settings later in your My Mashes area. You can also choose to keep some Mashes Private and make other Public.
MASHER will not delete your content unless your account gets deactivated.
There are two ways that this can happen; First, we show off the most popular Mash so if lots of people are watching yours it will naturally make its way to our homepage. Second, if you've created something that you think is worth of promotion on our homepage (it's creative and innovative) let us know by using the Contact Us page (be sure to include the url of your Mash) and we'll see if we can post it into our 'Featured Mashes' section.
You can either click contact us here or click "Contact Us" from the bottom navigation footer of our site. Using the form provided, send us a note and we'll get back to you as soon as possible (usually within the day).
Yes, go to My Account and you can edit your screen name
Please report bugs and other issues through the Contact Us section. The more information you can give us the better and we'll do our best to resolve the issue.
Please copy the url (web address) of the Mash you'd like to report and then use the Contact Us form to report the issue (include the url of the Mash you're reporting in the body of your message.) We take these reports seriously and we'll investigate immediately.
Very clear. MASHER is for creating incredible, artistic and fun videos quickly and easily. It is not for stealing other people's content or offending anyone. For more on this topic, please read our Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct.
No. MASHER does not allow the use of copyrighted material, unless you own the copyright. MASHER is about helping you create and share your own content, not something owned by someone else.
Content such as TV shows and clips, sports and news highlights, feature films, music videos, tracks pulled from albums - all are copyrighted and cannot be used in your videos. The exception to this is content that is within the public domain. If you include copyrighted material in your Mash and we become aware of it, we will delete your Mash and possibly even terminate your account. For complete details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct.

Of course, you can always keep your content private by selecting "Private" when you create a Mash.
To a limited degree. Our terms and conditions have more information on this, but in a nutshell:
No. Under MASHER's Terms and Conditions, you cannot use copyrighted material or content which is owned by someone else without their express permission. We're strict on this policy-we have to be. Otherwise it would be unfair to everyone.

To experience MASHER at its best, you need a decent computer (either PC or Mac) with a good broadband connection to the Internet. If you can watch a video on YouTube without any trouble, you should be able to use MASHER. If you are using a Tablet device, everything on MASHER will work except the Preview Player (which is a Flash player).
MASHER has been tested for Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer (8 and higher) and Safari
Yes. Your content is stored in your personal, password-protected My Mashes area on MASHER. Registering also allows you to save, edit, delete and publish your Mashes.
MASHER allows you to store up to 250MB of videos, images and music.
First, you need to register. Once you've logged in to MASHER, go to the 'Studio' to begin creating your Mash. This a simple 5 step process that you'll be guided through. On Step 2, you can upload any photos or short video clips that you want to include in your Mash. You'll see an upload button. Click it, browse, select the file to upload, and click "Upload." A status window will open up, indicating the progress of the upload. Once your file has uploaded, you will see it appear as a thumbnail image and you can then drag it to the timeline in the position you want as normal. Any file you upload with be stored in your library (My Media) so you can use it in any number of different Mashes.
The upload time depends on your internet bandwidth and the file size of the content you're uploading. During upload, a status bar will appear so you can see how things are moving along.
MASHER allows you to upload an individual video file up to 100MB. Usually that works out to about 5 minutes of video. If your file is larger than 100 MB, we recommend that you reduce the file size by editing it, splitting it or compressing it.
No. MASHER converts (transcodes) all standard video formats automatically.
One reason might be your Internet connectivity. To use MASHER, you need to have a good connection to the Internet. If you can watch a video on YouTube, then you should be able to also see a Mash on MASHER.
Another reason might be that the Internet itself is experiencing a lot of traffic and then slows down - you may notice this happening in the late afternoon/early evening when people are stopping work and ('ahem) starting to 'do research on the Internet'.
A third reason might be that MASHER is momentarily getting hit with massive traffic - too many people all trying to do the same thing at the same time. We have huge bandwidth capabilities, but sometimes, we're pretty popular. If this seems to be the case, try to play your Mash a few minutes later.

Yes. To do this go to 'My Mashes' and open the Mash you wish to download. Underneath the video player you will see a green 'Export' button. Click this to download/export your Mash as an .mp4 video file. Note that this is a premium MASHER feature.
At this time, MASHER is only in English.
No. Once you've save your Mash that you've created with MASHER, you can delete any of the content that you used to create it from your MASHER account.
This will happen automatically. MASHER will loop your music track to match the length of your Mash. Similarly, if you music track is longer that your Mash, MASHER will fade the audio out at the end of your Mash.
At this moment, MASHER does not provide search functionality. Stay tuned.
Not for the time being. But we're already working on many enhancements to MASHER, and this is certainly on our radar.
Check the volume controls on your computer, make sure you have a good connection to the Internet (if you can play a video from YouTube then you should be fine) and make sure that any audio track you've uploaded is in a format which MASHER supports.
Sure, using the browser on your mobile device, you can login to MASHER and upload files as normal. Also, keep an eye out for our Android and iOS apps which are coming soon!
Yes, in Step 5 of the Mash creation process you can add Tags to your Mash just before you save it.
There is a limit to the numbers of frames you can add to your timeline (and therefore that you can use in your Mash). As of April, 2016, this limit is 20 frames but we will keep extending this limit as fast as we can.
Delete the html embed code which is on the page itself.
If you delete your Mash without removing the link on your social networking page, users will get a message saying "This Mash is no longer available."
Could be you accidentally missed some of the code when you did your copy and paste. Otherwise, there might be some sort of problem with your Mash. Open your Mash in the editor, and save it again, then try copying and pasting the link one more time. If the problem persists, there might be a technical issue with the site itself which, for some reason, is not allowing the Mash to play. Please let us know through our Contact Us page that you are having a problem and we will do our best to resolve it.
If you're on a PC, check Properties. If you're on a Mac, select the item and press control-I. A dialogue box will appear that lists the file size and other information.
Unfortunately, no. You will have to upload your content again if you want to use it in MASHER.
Always advisable! MASHER is definitely safe and sound, but in the event your content is lost we cannot be responsible.
If you are a registered user, you can always contact us with your questions and issues. Simply use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.
